How We Started
In 2021, Dr. Freida Chavez, gathered a small group of visionary and enthusiastic nurse leaders and academics from the Filipino community. Their shared vision was to unite and empower Filipino nurses across Canada, enabling them to reach their highest potential.
With a strong determination to enhance the visibility of Filipino nurses and increase their representation in leadership roles within the Canadian and global health systems, the founding members embarked on a journey focused on mentorship and collaboration. This led to the establishment of the Alliance of Filipino Nursing Professionals in Canada (AFNPC), a milestone that will enhance the
future of nurses from the Filipino community in Canada and beyond!
